This was a project in collaboration with Trunk Creative to create a character design to be used for the logo and promotion of the Great Alaska Martial Arts Tournament. The brief was to take a big bad (but happy) bear and create a cartoon character in a kicking action typical of many martial arts practices.
We tried a diffrent pose initially as can be seen from the examples below, before deciding on the final character’s pose and colouring. You can see how the final character was used with the logo below plus the earlier vector versions of the illustration with alternative colurs and pose.
I also created a Karate Kid Kobra Kai coloured version just for fun :)
